Week 4 EOC: App Idea

When I’m not busy with my full-time shenanigans from school and work, you can find me at the nearest karaoke bar. I don’t claim to be the best singer in the world, but when drinks are passed around and your friends are singing along at the top of their lungs to Journey one minute and Celine Dion the next minute, it’s always bound to be a blast. But when it’s the same group of friends you constantly go out with, you might be faced with a predicament of running out of new karaoke material to sing along to, often leading to less-than-stellar karaoke sessions. You may argue that sometimes a little alcohol may solve that issue, but unfortunately that isn’t always the case.

If only there was an app that constantly gave my entourage some new material to sing along to every time we head to the bar. Maybe some kind of app that analyzes a group’s musical tastes to come up with a list of songs that we could all sing along to. Much credit has to be given to karaoke bars for having a wide variety of karaoke to sing along to, but there’s always that one guy in your crew that can’t sing and will absolutely not sing unless he really feels strongly about a certain song, and this app could help make it fun for everybody. The last thing I need is somebody hogging the microphone and going on a singing spree while the rest of the crew sits there disinterested. “Don’t Stop Believing’” and “Hotline Bling” are cool and all, but there comes a point when enough is enough, and a change needs to be made for the sake of the party. If somewhere out there is listening, make it happen. I’ll be one happy camper singing the night away.
