6. Tweet 5 more posts for a total of 50 posts by next week

7. Create a script for the radio segment

8. Assemble voice actors

9. Mix and master radio segments for creative content portion

10. Attach radio segment to blog

Week 9 EOC: Creative Content

My marketing strategy to revive the Phineas Fogg brand involves introducing exotic flavors to a demographic accustomed to the typical flavors found in American cuisine. Adobo is a seldom heard Filipino marinade not often found in snacks, so solid creative content is crucial in getting my product across the way I want it to.

I've broken down my creative content into two parts. First off, I plan to showcase the logo for my brand of Adobo-marinated crackers nuts. I’ll be the first to admit that drawing is not one of my specialties, so I’ll require the assistance of a program such as Adobe Photoshop or Microsoft PowerPoint to edit pictures I find on the web in the hopes that I can come up with great-looking logo. Once I’ve added the necessary graphics and text, I will post the logo on my blog to share.

Second, I plan on designing a fake radio commercial, which will require the services of several students with a background in voice acting. I am fortunate enough to own the audio equipment necessary to record and mix my content together which includes a broadcast microphone, laptop, and DAW software. Once I come up with a concept for my radio script, I plan on getting my voice actors together sometime in the next few days to record the dialogue for my script and by Friday, I plan on mixing my segment together, adding sound effects and background music to bring my script to life. Mastering the segment to give it that commercial sparkle will be my final step in the radio segment process, which will require a few more hours. I will post the completed radio segment on a SoundCloud account that I’ve created and incorporate it into my blog for the purpose of sharing my content to my fellow peers and teachers.

Week 8 EOC: The Adventure

My Fellow Adventurer,

Allow me to tell you another tale of excitement and debauchery as I look back on my past exploits.

As my trusty companion Passepartout and I set out towards the shores of Yokohama, the long journey forced us to camp out along the lush, tropical forests of the Philippines. Late at night, a local, indigenous tribe who introduced themselves as the Adobo clan invited us to spend the night at their camping grounds. They sure knew how to party, as we were greeted with voluptuous women who spoke in nothing but sexually suggestive nut puns, while a sweet and succulent scent filled the air. After engaging in hours of drink and fornication, the tribe fell in a deep slumber. Seeking to find the source of this delectable scent, my companion and I followed the scent, which led us to the chieftain’s quarters, and to our delight, we found a large pot filled with a mysterious, gooey marinade. We couldn’t resist walking away, so we set to acquire a portion of this succulent marinade, but to our surprise, the chieftain awakened to find us in his quarters. We were tied up and ordered to be thrown into a local volcano, but thanks to the craftiness of my companion, we managed to break free of the rope as we surfed back to the hot-air balloon to continue the next part of our journey........or at least that’s how I remember it. Honestly, I was still buzzed from the drinks.

In the spirit of my exploits, I have spent these recent years trying to replicate the salivating marinade I encountered on that very night. After years of experimenting, I believe I have done the unthinkable of replicating that very same marinade. In the spirit of the noble tribe and the voluptuous peanut-pun speaking women, I present to you the Adobo-marinated cracker nuts. But fellow adventurers beware, the scintillating recipe of sweets and spices can be a bit overwhelming at first, but do not be afraid. Share them with your fellow companions and keep them away from indigenous tribes. But most importantly, enjoy.

Your trusted confidant,

Phileas Fogg

Week 7 EOC: The Pitch

A product is "anything that can be offered to the market for attention, acquisition, use, or consumption, that might satisfy a want or need." (Marketing: An Introduction, 209)

In the bar scene, finding a pure tangible good that satisfies both a man and a woman can be process that requires much thought. Peanuts are popular brands because they absorb consumed alcohol and encourage men to drink more alcohol. Females may be interested in finding a snack to share with their friends that manages to keep the pounds off. I feel like I might have stumbled onto something.

I plan to embrace my Filipino roots by developing a trail-mix style of crunchy nuts and crackers that would put a new spin on bar food. Popular Filipino cuisine dishes such as Adobo and Turon are seasoned into the crackers and form an interesting blend of sweet and salty that would surely be a hit in a bar scene craving for originality. This product can be made with zero trans-fat and zero cholesterol, which could be quite appealing for women trying to keep an eye on their weight. Much emphasis needs to be made in establishing our brand from scratch, so our package design is top priority for us. Our product would be sold in a 34 oz plastic bottle with the shape of palm tree prevalent in many islands in the Philippines, especially in bars with an overview of the beach. An asking price similar to competitors such as Planters is what I'll charge, roughly $4 for a 34 oz. bottle.

Filipino cuisine is recent development here in the local foodie scene, so I plan to inject some originality into the bar scene by offering an alternative to the boring, ordinary peanut. To sum it up, introducing popular Filipino flavors, offering a reasonable price point, and enticing customers through our stellar packaging design is the marketing plan we’re going for.

Week 6 EOC: Me x 3

LayRite Pomade

Cleanliness and looking sharp is something I always to strive for when I get out of bed. Most nights, I hardly get any sleep with all my precious hours spent on studying or mixing. In my book, I need to at least put in a concerted effort to do my hair so you don’t look like you’ve been to hell and back. On the days when my hat is not an option, my hair needs to be slicked to the side and ready to go. You never know who you’re going to meet at any moment, so I put a lot of emphasis on looking fairly decent.

Ibanez Acoustic Guitar

My parents bought me this guitar when I was 10 and I never looked back. As long as I’m roaming this earth, I’ll never let go of this baby. I’ll never forget spending countless nights learning my favorite tunes on this guitar as I practiced chords and right hand finger-picking until the late hours of the morning. Countless hours practicing opened the way to my music production career, as I fell in love to the little intricacies of a song by intently using my ears in a way that I never did before. It’s not the best-sounding guitar or the easiest to play, but too many memories make prevent me from letting this baby go.

Starbucks Doubleshot Energy

Anyone who really knows me knows my addiction to all types of caffeine, which made working at a Starbucks a no-brainer in my opinion. This baby keeps me going the wee hours of the night when my mind can’t take anymore punishment. One chug of the whole can and I’ve got the energy to go on for the rest of the day. I know one day if all my dreams come true, this drink might single-handedly kill me, but the pros outweigh the cons in this scenario and I can’t resist the scrumptious Vanilla syrup that flavors these bad boys.
